Ballaarat Engine, Victoria Square Busselton 1927
The grand old Ballaarat steam engine, which was WA’s first steam locomotive, turns 150 years old this year and Bright Communications has helped the City of Busselton mark the occasion.
in 2020 we helped the City get word out about the imminent anniversary to encourage people to submit stories, photos and memorabilia.
A great response was received and an official birthday party was held in the Steam Engine’s honour in August 2021 at its Railway House home in Busselton.
Margaret River Busselton Tourism Association then asked if we could write a story on the engine’s colourful history and we were only too happy to oblige. You can read it here.
